Philomena Jordan

Philomena personifies the Irish gift for telling stories, reciting poetry and spontaneous singing.  She was born into a large family on a small farm in the west of Ireland. She grew up in an atmosphere rich in the Gaelic culture and traditions of the Irish countryside.

When she came to Canada, she found a way to keep this rich culture alive and stay connected to her Irish roots by sharing these wonderful stories, songs, and poetry with audiences of all ages in schools, seniors’ homes, and libraries. Also, at storytelling festivals and on television. With a warm Irish lilt, Philomena breathes new life, infectious energy, and inspiration into traditional Irish tales.
